Als kind gaf ik elk knuffeldier een eigen stem. Mijn ouders werden er soms gek van. Later, in mijn praktijk als logopedist — ruim 30 jaar lang — kon ik me ook helemaal uitleven met mijn stem. En met drie dochters in huis werd er heel wat voorgelezen en gezongen.
Toch ontdekte ik iets belangrijks: je stem is niet alleen een instrument om te klinken, maar ook om te raken.
Ik merkte dat ik soms mensen juist op afstand hield door teveel te teachen en vanuit mijn hoofd te spreken. Pas toen ik leerde om mijn stem te laten dragen door gevoel en echt aanwezig zijn, in connectie met mezelf, maakte ik echt verbinding. Ik voelde mijn missie, dat ik vrouwen mag leren hoe ze hun stem laten horen vanuit wie ze echt zijn. Dat is bezield leiderschap en dát is precies wat ik nu aan mijn klanten leer.
In het theater voel ik me het meest vrij. Daar ben ik helemaal mezelf. Vrouwen helpen zichzelf te durven zijn, is magisch.
Ik woon in een natuurgebied in Woerdense Verlaat waar ik ook mijn coachruimte heb.
